To consider a report of the Corporate Director for Place Management & Regeneration

The report details the findings of the Review of Outcomes tour undertaken on Wednesday, 11 October 2017 and requests that the Area Committee gives consideration to the arrangements for the 2018 tour.

The Area Committee is recommended to :-

(1)  Comment on and note the findings of the 2017 Annual Review of Outcomes Tour.

(2) Nominate a completed development site to be included on the list of sites to be inspected on the 2018 Annual Review Tour; and

(3) Nominates Members to attend the Annual Review Tour on October 5 2018.

A representative of the Democratic Services Manager submitted a report of the Corporate Director for Place Management and Regeneration (copies of which had been circulated) outlining the findings of the Review of Outcomes Tour in October 2017 and detailing the proposed arrangements for the 2018 tour.

RESOLVED – That the Corporate Director for Place Management and Regeneration be informed that the Area Committee would wish the visiting team to visit Marple Aqueduct.

The Area Committee at its last meeting nominated sites to be visited as part of the 2018 Tour but deferred consideration of the nomination of councillors to attend.

The Area Committee is recommended to nominate Members to attend the Annual Review Tour on October 5 2018.

A representative of the Democratic Services Manager submitted a report of the Corporate Director for Place Management & Regeneration (copies of which had been circulated) requesting the Area Committee nominate councillors to attend the 2018 Review of Outcomes Tour. The Area Committee had previously nominated sites for inclusion.

It was commented that a number of Area Committee members would be attending the Tour in their capacity as members of the Planning & Highways Regulation Committee.

RESOLVED – That Councillors John Wright and Mark Weldon be nominated to attend the Tour.

A representative of the Corporate Director for Place Management and Regeneration submitted a report (copies of which had been circulated) outlining the findings of the Review of Outcomes Tour 2017 and outlining the arrangements for the 2018 tour.

RESOLVED – (1) That the Corporate Director for Place Management and Regeneration be informed that the Area Committee recommends that the tour visit the recently completed Mercedes Garage site and that Councillors Roy Driver and Jude Wells be nominated to participate on the visit.

(2) That the Corporate Director for Place Management and Regeneration be informed that given the fact that the Area Committee represents four wards, the Committee were of the opinion that they should nominate more than one site to be visited as part of the tour.

(3) That the following Members be nominated to attend the Annual Review Tour on 5 October 2018:-

Councillors Richard Coaton, Becky Crawford, Philip Harding, Chris Murphy, Andy Sorton, Charlie Stewart and Elise Wilson.

(2) That the Annual Review of Outcomes Tour be requested to consider visiting the Bellway Homes housing developments at Offerton Park (former Dialstone Centre) and The Coppice (former Mirrlees site) or the development at Melford Road, Hazel Grove.

(3) That consideration of the nomination of councillors to attend the Tour be deferred to the next meeting.

The report details the findings of the Review of Outcomes tour undertaken on Wednesday, 11 October 2017 and requests that the Committee gives consideration to the arrangements for the 2018 tour.

(1) note the findings of the tour and refer the report to all Area Committees.

(2) agree to the next Review Tour to be held in October 2018 and request the Corporate Director make the necessary arrangements.

A representative of the of the Corporate Director for Place Management & Regeneration submitted a report (copies of which had been circulated) detailing the findings of the Review of Outcomes tour undertaken on Wednesday, 11 October 2017 and requesting that the Committee gives consideration to the arrangements for the 2018 tour.

The following comments were made/ issues raised:-

·         It was noted that the Tour had not been given access to the inside of Werneth High School to fully assess the quality of the completed development. 

·         Concern was expressed in relation to the incomplete landscaping outside Werneth High School.  In response it was stated that this remained ongoing and that the completed scheme would enhance the setting of the school building.

·         The quality of the completed Stockport Homes Headquarters building was highlighted and it was suggested that incorporating low level landscaping into the original design of the scheme would have served to enhance it further.

·         It was suggested that consideration should be given to the Tour visiting the outcomes of those interventions made by the Enforcement Team in future such tours.

RESOLVED – (1) That the Corporate Director for Place Management & Regeneration be authorised to make the necessary arrangements for the Review of Outcomes Tour to take place on Friday, 5 October 2018.

(2) That the Democratic Services Manager be requested to place an item on the agenda for the next cycle of Area Committees to request the nomination of a completed development site to be included on the list of sites to be inspected on the Annual Review Tour and that each Area Committee nominates Members to attend the Tour.
