The Area Committee is requested to recommend that the Cabinet Member for Communities & Housing gives approval to the installation of nine bollards on Stockport Road West, Bredbury at a cost of £2,700 to be funded from the Strategic Budget.

A representative of the Democratic Services Manager submitted a report of the Corporate Director for Place Management & Regeneration (copies of which had been circulated) detailing a proposal for the installation of nine Middleton bollards on the south kerbline of Stockport Road West, Bredbury to prevent drivers from mounting the footway on Stockport Road West following safety concerns being raised by pedestrians using the route.
Concern was expressed that the costs associated with the scheme were disproportionate to the works proposed. Further information was requested in relation to the contractor that would be undertaking the works on behalf of the Council.
RESOLVED - That the Cabinet Member for Communities & Housing be recommended to give approval to the installation of nine bollards on Stockport Road West, Bredbury at a cost of £2,700 to be funded from the Strategic Budget.
