To consider a report of the Corporate Director for Place Management and Regeneration

The report addresses an anomaly on Shaw Heath between the mapping system and the markings on the street which has made enforcement of the existing Traffic Regulation Orders difficult in an area where parking spaces are at a premium.

The Area Committee is requested to recommend the Cabinet Member for Communities and Housing to approve the statutory legal advertising of the Traffic Regulations Orders detailed in the report and, subject to no objections being received within twenty one days from the advertisement date, the Order can be made.

A representative of the Corporate Director for Place Management and Regeneration submitted a report (copies of which had been circulated) which addressed an anomaly on the western side of Shaw Heath, between Holmes Street and Heathland Terrace, between the mapping system and the markings on the street which had made enforcement of the existing Traffic Regulation Orders difficult in an area where parking spaces were at a premium.

RESOLVED – (1) That the Cabinet Member for Communities and Housing be recommended to approve the statutory legal advertising of the following Traffic Regulation Order, as shown on plan no. NM8/4987/02 attached to the report, at an approximate cost of £700 to be funded from the Cabinet Member’s Strategic Highways Budget and, subject to no objections being received within twenty one days from the advertisement date, the Order be made:-

Proposed Revocation of all existing Traffic Regulation Orders on Shaw Heath

Western side - from the south easterly kerbline of Holmes Street to the north westerly kerbline of Heathland Terrace. (Note: there are no moving orders on this section of Shaw Heath).

Proposed No Waiting At Any Time/No Loading Monday-Friday 7.30am-9.30am & 4pm-6.30pm.

Shaw Heath - western side, from the south easterly kerbline of Holmes Street for a distance of approximately 8 metres in a south easterly direction. 

Proposed Limited Waiting Monday-Saturday 8am-6pm 1 hour no return within 1 hour

Shaw Heath - western side, from a point approximately 8 metres south east of the south easterly kerbline of Holmes Street to a point 1.5m north west of the north westerly kerbline of Heathland Terrace

Proposed No Waiting At Any Time

Shaw Heath - western side, from the north westerly kerbline of Heathland Terrace for a distance of 1.5 metres in a north westerly direction.

(2) That it be noted that the following proposal no longer requires a Traffic Regulation Order but does form part of the proposed waiting restrictions and is enforceable:-.

Proposed Bus Stop Clearway

Shaw Heath - western side, from a point 1.5 metres north west of the north westerly kerbline of Heathland Terrace for a distance of approximately 19 metres in a north westerly direction.
