To consider a report of the Corporate Director for Place Management and Regeneration

To report sets out the results of an investigation into the poor visibility caused by parked vehicles at the junction of Wilmslow Road and Grange Road, Cheadle making it dangerous to negotiate the junction safely.

The Area Committee is requested to recommend the Executive Councillor (Communities and Housing) to approve the legal advertising of the Traffic Regulation detailed in the report and, subject to no objections being received within the statutory period, the Order can be made.

A representative of the Democratic Services Manager submitted a report of the Corporate Director for Place Management and Regeneration (copies of which had been circulated) setting out the results of an investigation into the poor visibility caused by parked vehicles at the junction of Wilmslow Road and Grange Road, Cheadle making it dangerous to negotiate the junction safely.

RESOLVED – That, subjection to the plan attached to the report being amended to reflect that the prohibition of waiting at the junction of Waldon Avenue/Wilmslow Road and north of the entrance to Whitegates remain, the Executive Councillor (Communities and Housing) be recommended to approve the statutory legal advertising of the following Traffic Regulation Order at an approximate cost of £850 to be funded from the Executive Delegated Budget allocation and, subject to no objections being received within twenty one days from the advertisement date, the Order be made:-

Revoke Existing Traffic Regulation Order

Grange Park Road, Cheadle – No Waiting at Any Time

Both sides – From the intersection of the eastern kerb line of Wilmslow Road for a distance of 10 metres in a north easterly direction.

Wilmslow Road, Cheadle – No Waiting at Any Time

East side – From a point 3 metres south of the intersection of the northern kerbline of Waldon Avenue, for a distance of 17 metres in a northerly direction.

Grange Park Road, Cheadle – No Waiting at Any Time

Both sides – From the intersection of the eastern kerb line of Wilmslow Road for a distance of 15 metres in a north easterly direction.

Wilmslow Road, Cheadle – No Waiting at Any Time

East side – From a point 24 metres south of the intersection of the southern kerbline of Grange Park Road, to a point 14 metres north of the intersection of the northern kerbline of Waldon Avenue.
