To consider a report of the Corporate Director for Place Management and Regeneration
The report considers a request to consider additional waiting restrictions during peak periods on Bramhall Lane to improve the safety of those travelling to the school, minimise congestion, encourage staff and pupils to walk, cycle or scooter, and ensure that on-street car parking demand will be managed.
The Area Committee is requested to recommend the Executive Councillor (Communities and Housing) to approve the statutory legal advertising of the Traffic Regulation Orders set out in the report and, subject to no objections being received within twenty one days from the advertisement date, the Orders can be made.

A representative of the Corporate Director for Place Management and Regeneration submitted a report (copies of which had been circulated) regarding a request to consider additional waiting restrictions during peak periods on Bramhall Lane and Dundonald Street, Cale Green to improve the safety of those travelling to the school, minimise congestion, encourage staff and pupils to walk, cycle or scooter, and ensure that on-street car parking demand would be managed.
RESOLVED - That the Executive Councillor (Communities and Housing) be recommended to approve the statutory legal advertising of the following Traffic Regulation Order at an approximate cost of £1,450 to be funded from the Executive Highways delegated budget and, subject to no objections being received within twenty one days from the advertisement date, the Orders be made:-
Proposed Revocation of all existing Traffic Regulation Orders for waiting restrictions
Bramhall Lane - eastern side from a point approximately 28 metres south of the projected southerly kerbline of Adswood Lane East to a point 10 metres north of the north westerly kerbline of Peel Street.
Dundonald Street - both sides from the easterly kerbline of Bramhall Lane for a distance of 5 metres in an easterly direction.
Proposed No Waiting Monday – Saturday 7.30am – 9.30am & 3.00pm-6.30pm
Bramhall Lane - eastern side from a point approximately 28 metres south of the projected southerly kerbline of Adswood Lane East to a point 21 metres north of the north westerly kerbline of Peel Street.
Dundonald Street - both sides from the easterly kerbline of Bramhall Lane for a distance of 5 metres in an easterly direction.
Proposed Limited Waiting Monday – Saturday 9.30am - 4.30pm 1 hour no return within 1 hour
Bramhall Lane - eastern side from a point 10 metres north of the northerly kerbline of Peel Street for a distance of 11 metres in a northerly direction.
Both of the proposals below no longer require a Traffic Regulation Order but do form part of the proposed waiting restrictions and are enforceable:-
Proposed No Stopping Monday – Friday 8.00am – 5.00pm on school entrance markings
Bramhall Lane - eastern side from a point approximately 59 metres south of the projected southerly kerbline of Adswood Lane East for a distance of approximately 31 metres in a southerly direction.
Proposed Bus Stop Clearway
Bramhall Lane - eastern side from a point 21 metres north of the northerly kerbline of Peel Street for a distance of 23 metres in a northerly direction.
