4 Open Forum - Manchester Airport
To consider a presentation from Wendy Sinfield (Community Relations Manager, Manchester Airport).
The presentation will detail the way in which aircraft currently operated and how they currently affect the Werneth area. The presentation will also discuss the impact on local airspace in the future associated with navigation changes.

Wendy Sinfield (Community Relations Manager, Manchester Airport) attended the meeting and made a presentation in relation to ongoing developments at Manchester Airport with particular regard to the way in which aircraft currently operated in and around the airport site and the impact on local airspace in the future associated with navigation changes.
The following comments were made/ issues raised:-
· Concern was expressed in relation to the impact of the proposed expansion of the airport on local highways infrastructure. In response it was stated that airport related traffic flows were highest at non-peak times and as such the impact on commuter traffic was minimal.
· In response to a comment that there would be a consequent increase in the number of flights, it was stated that there wasn’t a direct correlation between passenger numbers and aircraft movements due to the movement towards larger and more fuel efficient aircraft.
· It was commented that due to changes in aircraft navigation, flight paths would become more rigid and some residents would be more consistently effected.
