a member of the public spoke against the application; and

 

a representative of the applicant spoke in support of the application

 

It was then

 

RESOLVED – That the Planning and Highways Regulation Committee be recommended to grant planning permission, subject to:-

 

(a)  the applicant being requested to meet with local Ward Councillors to consider the possibility of establishing a liaison group in advance of any further construction works taking place, as well as to explore how the scheme could provide better linkages with existing pedestrian routes.

 

(b)  the Planning and Highways Regulations Committee being requested to consider the issues referred to in (a) above, as well as issues relating to the likely impact of the proposal in terms of educational need and the siting and equipping of the Local Areas of Play (LAPs) and Local Equipped Areas for Play (LEAPs).
