To consider a report of the Corporate Director for Place Management and Regeneration

The report sets out a request from Cancer Research UK to hold its annual Race for Life event at Woodbank and Vernon Parks on 22 May 2016.

The Area Committee is recommended to approve the application.

A representative of the Democratic Services Manager submitted a report of the Corporate Director for Place Management and Regeneration (copies of which had been circulated) regarding a request from Cancer Research UK to hold its annual Race for Life event in Woodbank and Vernon Parks on 22 May 2016.

RESOLVED – (1) That approval be given to the request from Cancer Research UK to hold its annual Race for Life event at Woodbank and Vernon Parks on 22 May 2016, subject to there being no pets, live creatures or animals being used as prizes on the stalls.

(2) That the Democratic Services Manager be requested to ascertain the Council’s policy on animals and birds at events on Council owned land and either request that the Corporate Director for Place Management and Regeneration prepares a policy or submits a report to a future meeting of the Area Committee on enforcing the policy.
