To consider a report of the Corporate Director for Place Management & Regeneration.
The report considers the lines of enquiry raised by the Working Party on 16 March 2015 in relation to visitor permits in residential parking schemes.

Working Party is requested to consider its response to the lines of
enquiry raised.

Minutes:
A representative of the Corporate Director for Place Management & Regeneration submitted a report (copies of which had been circulated) requesting the Working Party to consider the lines of enquiry as requested at the last meeting in relation to visitor parking permits in residential parking schemes.
The following comments were made/issues raised:-
· The potential for the fraudulent use of visitor parking permits.
· Ways in which reports of fraudulent use of visitor parking permits could be dealt with by the local authority.
· Unique reference numbers on permits could be used to identify the owner of the vehicle.
RESOLVED – That
the Working Party make the following recommendations to the
Council’s Executive:
(1) That any person in possession of Leisure Key Band A who applied
for a visitor parking permit, be granted it at half price from the
2016/17 financial year.
(2) That the Corporate
Director for Place Management & Regeneration be requested to
undertake an internal review of visitor parking permits for care
workers employed by the Council in all zones they require.
(3) That the Corporate Director for Place Management &
Regeneration be requested to further investigate the possible
misuse of the visitor parking permit system in the borough and take
appropriate action to prevent it.
