To consider a report of the Service Director (Place Management).

 

The report details proposals for the use of commuted sums for play provision in the Bramhall and Cheadle Hulme South Area and requests the Area Committee to give consideration to the location of those play areas where those sums should be spent. The report also outlines the criteria and background policy relevant to commuted sum use and allocation and supporting information, on a site by site basis, for each individual recommendation.

 

The Area Committee is recommended to give approval to the allocation of commuted sums as detailed in the report.

Minutes:

A representative of the Democratic Services Manager submitted a report (copies of which had been circulated) of the Service Director (Place Management) detailing proposals for the use of new commuted sums for play provision in the Bramhall and Cheadle Hulme South area and locations of the play areas where these sums were to be spent.

 

RESOLVED – That approval be given to the following allocations of commuted sums for the Bramhall and Cheadle Hulme South area:-

 

(i) The use of £669.24 from development no. 1065 (DC048542, 3 Hilltop Avenue, Cheadle Hulme) at Heathbank Road Play Area.

 

(ii) The use of £334.62 from development no. 1069 (DC051067, 5 Mellor Road, Cheadle Hulme) towards improvements to safer surfacing at Heathbank Road Play Area.

 

(iii) The use of £1338.48 from development no. 1084 (DC050707, Marlow Close, Cheadle Hulme) towards improvements to junior play equipment at Bruntwood Park.

 

(iv) The use of £1338.48 from development no. 1085 (DC050707, Hurley Drive, Cheadle Hulme) towards improvements to junior play equipment at Bruntwood Park.

·         £1,338.48 at Lumb Lane Recreation Ground towards future improvements to junior play equipment.

 

(2) That consideration of those elements of the report that related to the allocation of commuted sums within the Cheadle Hulme South ward be deferred until the next meeting of the Area Committee pending further consideration of the proposed allocations against the stated criteria.
