Issue - meetings

To consider a report of the Director of Development & Regeneration.

The report provides an update on delivering Reddish District Centre Action Plan including recent successes and priorities for the next 6 months.

The Area Committee is asked to:-

a)    Note the progress made in delivering projects and events.

b)    Provide feedback on initial ideas for priority projects to allocate the £5,000 UKSPF which will be discussed with Reddish Vision Group.

Darren Flannery attended the meeting to provide an update on delivering the Reddish District Centre Action Plan including recent successes and priorities for the next 6 months.

The following comments were made/issues raised: -

·       Members expressed their appreciation for the work that had already been undertaken and were pleased with the success of events such as ReddFest and were looking forward to the Christmas Light Switch On event planned for later in the year.

·       It was stated that the work in the community to support residents with their skills, raise awareness of statutory responsibilities and also helping the volunteers was welcomed.

·       The opportunities for development of a food and hospitality workshop for businesses across Stockport would be organised to be held in September 2024.

·       It was suggested that the potential for a cargo bike hire scheme could be explored for future development.
