To consider a report of the Director for Place Management.

 

The report provides details relating to the objections which have been returned in relation to the introduction of a Toucan Crossing with associated measures on Broadstone Road at the junctions with Keswick Road and Briarfield Road.

 

The Area Committee is asked to consider the comments in the report and provide approval for the orders to be made as advertised and that objectors are informed of the decision.

A representative of the Assistant Director for Legal and Democratic Governance submitted a report of the Director of Place Management (copies of which had been circulated) detailing objections which had been returned in response to the legal advertising of a Toucan Crossing and associated measures.

 

The following comments were made/issues raised: -

 

·       Concern was expressed concern regarding the loss of parking outside two properties on Broadstone Road and the impact this would have on residents.

·       Members enquired about aspects of the scheme relating to Broadstone Road. In response, it was stated that it would be looked at and as part of the scheme it would be re-kerbed and widened.

RESOLVED – That approval be given for the legal advertising of a Toucan Crossing and associated Traffic Regulation Orders (‘No Waiting at Any Time’ restrictions and raised tables) be introduced on Broadstone Road, Keswick Road and Briarfield Road and objectors be informed of the decision.
