To consider a report of the Director for Place Management.

 

The report details an application received from Marple Carnival Charities Committee to hold their Annual Carnival event at Marple Memorial Park and Brabyns Park on Saturday 17 June 2023 with permission being sought to use both parks between 15 – 19 June 2023 to enable set up and close down of the event.

 

The Area Committee is recommended to approve the application subject to all appropriate paperwork, licences and fees being submitted to the Council at least one week prior to the event taking place.

A representative of the Assistant Director (Legal & Democratic Governance) submitted a report of the Director of Place Management (copies of which had been circulated) detailing an application received from Marple Carnival Charities Committee to hold their Annual Carnival event at Marple Memorial Park and Brabyns Park on Saturday 17 June 2023 with permission being sought to use both parks between 15 – 19 June 2023 to enable set up and close down of the event.

 

Members supported the application and noted that the applicant had held the same event without issue for a number of years.

 

RESOLVED -  That approval be given to an application from Marple Carnival Charities Committee to hold their Annual Carnival event at Marple Memorial Park and Brabyns Park on Saturday 17 June 2023, subject to all appropriate paperwork, licences and fees being submitted to the Council at least one week prior to the event taking place. Permission has been sought to access the parks between 15-19 June to enable set-up and close-down of the event.
