To consider a report of the Director of Place Management.

 

The report details the findings of a consultation exercise for the Road Safety around Schools scheme for Prospect Vale Primary School and seeks Area Committee approval for the introduction of TROs, the implementation of dropped kerbs with tactile paving, provision of bollards and new school warning signs.

 

The Area Committee is requested to consider and approve the proposals for the Road Safety around Schools – Prospect Vale Primary School scheme:

 

1.    the legal advertising of the Traffic Regulation Orders set out in Appendix A and shown on Drawing No 0305/63/PV/002 Rev A and, subject to no objections being received within 21 days from the advertisement date, that the orders be made; and

 

2.    the implementation of dropped kerbs with tactile paving, provision of bollards and new school warning signs (to be funded from the Road Safety around Schools programme budget allocation).

A representative of the Assistant Director for Legal and Democratic Governance submitted a report of the Director of Place Management (copies of which had been circulated) detailing the findings of a consultation exercise for the Road Safety around Schools Scheme for Prospect Vale Primary School and sought Area Committee approval for the introduction of Traffic Regulation Orders, the implementation of dropped kerbs with tactile paving, provision of bollards and new school warning signs.

 

RESOLVED – That approval be given to the implementation of a Road Safety Around Schools Scheme at Prospect Vale Primary School, including the provision of dropped kerbs with tactile paving, bollards and new school warning signs as detailed in the plan appended to the report; the legal advertisement of the associated package of traffic regulation orders, as detailed in Appendix A to the report; and subject to the receipt of no objections within 21 days of the advertisement date, the subsequent making of the orders (to be funded from the Road Safety Around Schools programme budget allocation).
