To consider a report of the Director of Place Management.

The report sets out the intention of Crazy Legs Events to repeat their successful Stockport Trail Half Marathon Event on 26 February 2023, and asks the Area Committee to consider the application.

The Area Committee is recommended to consider and approve an application received from Crazy Legs Events to hold a Stockport Trail Half Marathon Event at the greenspace area at Wood Lane on 26 February 2023, subject to the organiser obtaining appropriate papers, event plans, health & safety documentation, licenses, insurances and any fees and charges that apply. To also include checks for and removal of litter.

A representative of the Strategic Head of Service (Legal & Democratic Governance and Monitoring Officer) submitted a report of the Director of Place Management (copies of which had been circulated) detailing an application from Crazy Legs Events to repeat their successful Stockport Trail Half Marathon Event on 26 February 2023. The event would take place at the greenspace area at Wood Lane on 26 February 2023.

RESOLVED – That approval be given to an application from Crazy Legs Events to hold a Stockport Trail Half Marathon Event at the greenspace area along Middlewood Way, from Wood Lane, Marple through High Lane and into Cheshire East and land owned by the Canals and Rivers trust on 26 February 2023, from 8am – 2.30pm , with a start time of 9.30am subject to the organiser obtaining appropriate papers, event plans, health & safety documentation, licenses, insurances and any fees and charges that apply. To also include checks for and removal of litter.
