To consider a report of the Director of Place Management.

The report details the installation and associated costs of bollards at two locations in the Heatons.

The Area Committee is asked to approve the installation and associated costs for 10 bollards at £350 each at a total cost of £3,500 to be funded from the Area Committee’s Delegated Budget (Heatons North ward allocation).

A representative of the Director of Place Management submitted a report (copies of which had been circulated) detailing the installation and associated costs of bollards at two locations in the Heatons.

Members enquired about additional bollards being installed near the war memorial and cash machine in the vicinity for pedestrian safety and parking restrictions. In response, it was noted that further information would be provided regarding the request for additional bollards.

RESOLVED – (1) That the Cabinet Member for Highways, Parks & Leisure Services be recommended to approve the installation and associated costs for 10 bollards at £350 each at a total cost of £3,500 to be funded from the Area Committee’s Delegated Budget (Heatons North ward allocation).

(2) That the Director of Place Management be asked to investigate the request for additional bollards near the war memorial and cash machine in the vicinity of Heatons South (Didsbury Road and Green Lane) due to pedestrian safety and parking restrictions.
