Purpose:

To set a budget for the 2013/14 Housing Revenue Account.  To set rent levels and service charge levels for 2013/14.

Decision:

The Council Meeting has approved:-

 

(i)         An increase in the average rent of 4.9% for dwelling rents;

(ii)        An increase of 3.1% for garage rents;

(iii)       Service charges increasing as outlined in paragraph 3.2;

(iv)       A 3.1% increase in Carecall Charges;

(v)        A 3.1% increase in Warden charges; and,

(vii)      The Housing Revenue Account Budget for 2013/14 as set out in Appendix One.

Alternative options considered:

None.

Interests and Nature of Interests Declared:

Councillor Stuart Corris declared a personal interest as his wife was a member of the Board of Stockport Homes.

 

Councillors Christine Corris, Tom Grundy, Paul Porgess, Maureen Rowles and Alanna Vine declared a personal and prejudicial interest as members of the Board of Stockport Homes.  Councillors Christine Corris, Grundy Porgess, Rowles and Vine left the meeting during the consideration of this item and took no part in the discussion or vote.

 

Councillor Martin Candler declared a personal and prejudicial interest as close relative was employed by Stockport Homes.  Councillor Candler left the meeting during the consideration of this item and took no part in the discussion or vote.

 

Councillors Tom Grundy, Mags Kirkham and Maureen Rowles declared a disclosable pecuniary interest as tenants of Stockport Homes and further that they had been granted a dispensation in respect of this matter by the Standards Committee at its meeting on 8 January 2013.
