Purpose:

The approval by the Executive of a Tenancy Strategy for Stockport.

 

The Council has a new duty to produce a Tenancy Strategy before the 1 January 2013.  The strategy should present the Council’s view on the use of fixed term tenancies in properties in its ownership and that of Registered (Housing) Providers, often known as Housing Associations, in the Borough.

Decision:

The Executive Meeting approved the Stockport Council Tenancy Strategy developed in response to the requirements of the Localism Act 2011, setting out the principals that should be considered by Registered Housing Providers operating in Stockport in determining their own Tenancy Policies.
