That the Cabinet Member for Communities & Housing has considered a request to increase the current Hackney Carriage tariff and had then:-
(1) Given approval for implementation of the proposal detailed in Table 1-6 in this report, subject to statutory consultation under the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976.
(2) Authorise officers to advertise the proposal in accordance with the legislation following the associated call-in period and dependent on any further comments or modifications,
(3) Agreed that any comments will be considered by officers and brought back to the next meeting of the Cabinet Member, only where they have not already been considered as part of this report.
(4) Authorised officers to implement the increase without further consultation with the Cabinet Member where there are no comments in response to the legal notice,
(5) Authorised officers to prepare for the meter changes in consultation with approved garages and the trade association, including communication to the trade regarding the arrangements.
(6) Agreed that Officers implement a revised format of the tariff card as part of the fare review, so that any ambiguity around charges are resolved.
