Decision:

The Corporate Director for Corporate & Support Services and Deputy Chief Executive has taken urgent action under the constitution to give approval to an application from Marple Scouts and Girlguiding to hold their annual Bonfire and Fireworks Display at Brabyns Park on Saturday 5 November 2022. The event will run from 7pm until 9pm on the 5 November 2022. However, the organiser will require access from 8am on the 5 November 2022 to set up and will vacate the site at 10am on the 6 November 2022 after completing a litter pick. There will be an entrance fee payable, tickets will be available prior to the event and will be £8 for adults and £4 for kids. First Aid will be provided by Kinder Scout Mountain Rescue Team and all proceeds will go to the Girlguiding and Scouting Marple Districts.

The Chair of the Marple Area Committee has been consulted on the proposal and has recommended that the application be approved.

The decision has been taken as urgent action as to delay the taking of the decision would provide insufficient notice for the organisers to obtain the necessary paperwork and licenses and as such, the ordinary approval process could not be followed
