Decision:

The Corporate Director for Corporate & Support Services and Deputy Chief Executive has taken urgent action under the constitution to give approval to an application from Marple Area Poppy Appeal to finish the Ride of

Remembrance within Marple Memorial Park. The event will take place on Sunday 23 October 2022, permission has been requested to use the park from 1.00pm until 4.30pm to enable event set up and close down of the event. The Ride of Remembrance involves 100 motorbikes riding through the town. Money raised from the event will go to the Royal British Legion.

The Chair of the Marple Area Committee has been consulted on the proposal and has recommended that the application be approved.

The decision has been taken as urgent action as to delay the taking of the decision would provide insufficient notice for the organisers to obtain the necessary paperwork and licenses and as such, the ordinary approval process could not be followed.
