Purpose:

To adopt the Stockport Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure (EVCI) Draft Strategy, the objectives of which are to:-

·         Facilitate the expansion of the existing network in a way that meets the forecast demand by providing the right types of charging infrastructure in the right locations.

·         Support the delivery of the Clean Air Plan by accelerating the take up of EV’s across GM.

·         Support the 2040 Transport Strategy ambitions for a sustainable, integrated transport network.

·         Work in partnership with the private sector to guide future investment in the EVCI network.

Decision:

The Cabinet has considered and given approval to the draft Zero-Emission Vehicle Charging Infrastructure (ZEVCI) Interim Policy Statement that set out how the Council and partners would seek to deliver ZEVCI in the borough.
