The purpose of the report is for members to
approve the High Lane Village Neighbourhood Plan for referendum
and, in the event of a decision to support the Plan at that
referendum, for the Council to adopt it as part of the
Council’s statutory development plan.
The Cabinet has considered the progress on the High Lane Village Neighbourhood Plan and the next stages in the process before it formally becomes part of the development plan for Stockport, and has agreed to recommend that the Council Meeting:-
(1) Approves the final version of the High Lane Village Neighbourhood Plan (HLVNP) and the Independent Examiner’s report;
(2) Authorises officers to take the necessary steps to conduct a referendum in the Neighbourhood Area;
(3) Approves that, in the event that a majority of eligible votes are in favour, the HLVNP be adopted as part of the local development plan.
