Purpose:

To agree a capital investment programme to replace the least energy efficient existing streetlights with lower energy equipment reducing maintenance, energy and carbon tax costs.

Decision:

The Executive considered a report detailing a review which had been undertaken to look at how the expected pressures on the street lighting budget which had been undertaken in the light of the rise in energy prices and the application of the carbon tax in 2013/14.

 

The Executive has given approval to the street lighting capital investment programme to replace 8% of the existing street lighting network as outlined in paragraph 4.4 of the report.
