Purpose:

To consider whether or not to publish statutory proposals to amalgamate Nevill Road Infant and Junior Schools into a single primary school, subject to permission from the Secretary of State to publish proposals with exemption from competition. The decision on publishing proposals is for the Executive; however, a final decision on implementation would be for the Schools Adjudicator.

 

Decision:

The Executive Meeting considered the response to a consultation with parents, staff and the community on the possible amalgamation of Nevill Road Infant and Junior Schools following the resignation of a head teacher and then noted the outcomes of the consultation and agreed that no further action be taken to pursue amalgamation at this time.
