Decision:

The Cabinet Member for Communities & Housing has agreed not to proceed with proposals to introduce carriageway cycle lanes on the A6 in High Lane between Wellington Road and the borough boundary as part of the A6MARR complementary and mitigation measures.

 

The Cabinet Member had considered the outcome of a public consultation that included affected frontages and key stakeholders.

 

In light of the significant objection to the proposals from consultation respondees and from the Marple Area, the Cabinet Member agreed not to proceed.

Alternative options considered:

To proceed with the proposals. This was rejected in light of the consultation feedback and the recommendation of officers in light of the concerns raised.
