Decision:

The Cabinet Member for Climate Change & Environment has given approval to applications for funding from the Stockport CAN Catalyst Fund:

1) An application for funding received on behalf of 2nd Heald Green Guides for a grant of £3,044 towards retrofitting a community centre to increase energy efficiency of the building.

2) An application for funding received on behalf of Design at the OU for a grant of £5,000 towards a Small Actions, Big Impact which will work with Stockport youth and community groups to foster youth-led climate action.

3) An application for funding received on behalf of Heaton Norris Community Centre for a grant of £4,996 towards a project to tackle climate change and promote sustainability for communities that use Heaton Norris Community Centre.

4) An application for funding received on behalf of St Chad's Eco Group for a grant of £4,275 towards an LED lighting retrofitting project in the Guywood Centre, which will result in significant energy savings and will be supported by awareness raising and community engagement about the work.

5) An application for funding received on behalf of St Winifred's Caritas Team for a grant of £1,000 towards setting up a ‘Refill Station’ within the school for children, families and the wider community.

6) An application for funding received on behalf of Stockport Women Warriors (Groundwork) for a grant of £5,000 towards a Low Carbon Cooking project will teach Stockport young women practical skills while promoting sustainable, low-carbon alternatives and seasonal eating.

7) An application for funding received on behalf of Sustainable Living Romiley for a grant of £500 towards a pilot project to set up a network of residential properties with water butts to manage and prevent rainwater from entering the sewage system during times of high pressure reducing the likelihood of localised surface flooding.

The Cabinet Member for Climate Change & Environment considered a number of eligible applications made to the CAN Catalyst Fund.
