The Cabinet Members for Communities, Culture
& Sport and Parks, Highways & Transport Services considered
a request to increase the current Hackney Carriage Tariff and
then:
(1) Gave approval for implementation of the proposals at Appendix
A, subject to statutory consultation under the Local Government
(Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976.
(2) Authorised officers to advertise the proposal in accordance
with legislation following the associated call-in period and
dependent on any further comments or modifications.
(3) Agreed that any comments would be considered by officers and
brought back to the next meeting of the Cabinet Member, only where
they have not already been considered as part of this report.
(4) Authorised officers to implement the increase without further
consultation with the Cabinet Member where there are no comments in
response to the legal notice.
(5) Authorised officers to prepare for the meter changes in
consultation with approved garages and the trade association,
including communication to the trade regarding the
arrangements.
(6) Agreed that officers implement a revised format of the tariff
card as part of the fare review, so that any ambiguity around
charges be resolved.
