The Director of Place Management and Assistant Director for Legal & Democratic Governance have given approval to an application from Seeding the Change for a grant of £1000 (£300 from the CAN Seed Fund and £700 from the Ward Flexibility Fund) (Manor ward allocation) towards developing a community garden at Britannia Hotel which is currently housing people seeking asylum with no greenspace.

The ward councillors have been consulted on this grant allocation and agreed that it be made.

Alternative options considered:

The group applied for £1,000 from the CAN Seed Fund from Manor ward allocation. Due to limited funds remaining in Manor ward allocation of the CAN Seed Fund, ward councillors were consulted and agreed to fund this application in full with £300 from the CAN Seed Fund and £700 from the Ward Flexibility Fund.
