Decision:

The Cabinet Member for Climate Change & Environment has given approval to applications for funding from the Stockport CAN Catalyst Fund:

1) An application for funding received on behalf of Manchester Environmental Education Network (MEEN) for a grant of £4,390 towards a programme for four primary schools that will see pupils to learn about causes, impacts and solutions of climate change, be supported to take action on climate change in their schools and become community educators able to support their peers, school staff and families to understand and tackle climate change.

2) An application for funding received on behalf of PIE: Pursuing Individual Excellence for a grant of £5,000 towards the cost of supporting two high schools in Stockport to 12-week social action projects to help take climate action within their school and wider communities.

Alternative options considered:

The Cabinet Member for Climate Change & Environment considered a number of eligible applications made to the CAN Catalyst Fund.
