The Area Committee has given approval to an application received from the Friends of Romiley Station for a grant of £750 towards the cost of installing an interpretive board near to the main station entrance on Stockport Road.
To make a grant of £1,000 as applied for.
In the light of the limited budget available to the Area Committee, and to ensure that funding remained available to local community organisations throughout the remainder of the municipal year, it was agreed that an award of £750 should be made instead with regard to this application.
Councillors Mark Roberts and Lisa Smart declared a personal interest as members of the Friends of Romiley Station.
Councillor Angie Clark declared a personal and prejudicial interest as the Secretary of the Friends of Romiley Station. Councillor Clark left the meeting during the consideration of this item and took no part in the discussion or vote.
