The Services to People
Directorate wish to present findings and subsequent recommendations
after a recent public consultation concerning Admission
Arrangements for academic year 2017/18.
The Admissions Code of Practice 2014 requires Local
Authorities/Admission Authorities to publically consult when it
intends to make significant changes to its Admission Arrangements.
For academic year 2017/18 the Local Authority has proposed boundary
changes to two catchment areas within the Brinnington locality as
well as an interim oversubscription criteria designed to mitigate
disadvantage caused by these catchment changes.
The Executive will be asked to consider the report, consultation
items and results of the admissions consultation and decide whether
to agree changes.
The Executive considered the outcome of consultation on proposed changes to the admission arrangements for 2017/18 and endorsed and approved the following:-
· The Local Authority supports the reviewed proposal to change the catchment area for Westmorland Primary School, St Paul’s CE Primary School, Werneth School and Reddish Vale High School.
· The Local Authority supports the introduction of interim criteria for an initial 3 year period from 2017/18, to be reviewed each year prior to determination.
