The Scrutiny Committee & Executive will be
presented with a paper detailing activity undertaken to date by
officers and the Independent Tenant Advisor in relation to the
future options for the ownership and management of the
Council’s housing stock.
Recommendations will include:
• Which options should be carried forward for evaluation and
consultation
• The evaluation criteria to be used to assess those
options
The Executive received a report on progress with the review of the management arrangements to determine the best option for the management of the housing stock owned by the Council after the ten year agreement following the establishment of an Arm’s Length Management Organisation comes to an end in October 2015.
The Executive then noted progress made to date with the Options Appraisal process and agreed that stock transfer be discounted from any further evaluation and the next stage of the evaluation should focus on the options of:
· Retaining ownership of the housing stock and using the existing ALMO, Stockport Homes, to manage it; or
· Retaining ownership of the housing stock but bringing its management back in house.
The Executive also adopted the evaluation criteria and assessment process detailed in the report.
