The Executive Councillor (Economic Development & Regeneration) and the Werneth Area Committee have considered and approved the elements of the following scheme (Option 1 of the report) that fall within their remit, to improve safety for motorists and pedestrians at the junction of Oakwood Road and Compstall Road, at a cost of £1400 to be funded from the Werneth Are Committee’s Highway Maintenance and Traffic Management Delegated Budget (Bredbury Green & Romiley Ward allocation):-

West side from the southern kerb line of Compstall Road for a distance of 97 metres in a southerly direction.
East side from the southern kerb line of Compstall Road for a distance of 185 metres in a southerly direction.
There was an Option 2 considered which involved additional restrictions but it was felt it was not expedient to pursue this at this time.
