Purpose:

To set the HRA budget for 2025/26

Decision:

The Council Meeting approved:-

 

(a) An increase of 2.7% for social rent and affordable rent.

(b) An increase of 3.2% for rent of shared ownership properties.

(c) Service charge increases as outlined in Section 5, with authority delegated to the Director of Finance, in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Economy, Regeneration & Housing, to agree a lower increase should this be necessary.

(d) The Housing Revenue Account Budget for 2025/26 as set out in Appendix 1.

Councillor Karl Wardlaw declared a personal and prejudicial interest as a tenant of Stockport Home.

 

Councillor Matt Wynne declared a personal and prejudicial interest as the owner of a shared ownership property with Stockport Homes.

 

It was noted that the Standards Committee has approved a wide dispensation to enable any member with a Disclosable Pecuniary Interest or a Personal and Prejudicial Interest in any item under consideration as part of the budget setting to take part and vote at the meeting.
