An application has been submitted by the
Prospective Neighbourhood Forum, which seeks to establish a
Neighbourhood Forum relating to the designated Marple Neighbourhood
Area under the provisions of the Localism Act 2011.
To take advantage of Neighbourhood Planning powers in non-parished
areas it is necessary to formally establish a Neighbourhood Forum
(no more than one per Neighbourhood Area) which is empowered to
undertake Neighbourhood Planning activities. It is the
responsibility of the Council to determine applications which seek
to establish Neighbourhood Areas or Forums. The Council must
determine whether the application meets the necessary regulatory
requirements and approve a neighbourhood forum.
The Executive recommended that the Council Meeting approve the application to establish Marple Neighbourhood Forum and formally designated the Forum.
