Cipfa Role of the Head of Internal Audit - self assessment and action plan
The aim of this report is to update the Audit
Committee on the outcome of the recent self-assessment against the
Cipfa document entitled “Role of the Head of Internal
Audit”.
According to Cipfa, the head of internal audit (HIA) plays a
critical role in delivering the organisation’s strategic
objectives by objectively assessing the adequacy and effectiveness
of governance and management of risks, giving an evidence-based
opinion on all aspects of governance, risk management and internal
control.
