When the council made the decision to relocate Castle Hill High School - parents and local residents were told that provision would be made, so that the Fairway and Castle Hill pupils could be dropped off at school safely. The plans sadly did not make this possible, and parking at both schools has been a serious safety concern ever since.
Fairway families have now been given alternative parking 0.2 miles away - which is only accessible by driving down a narrow driveway. The driveway is only wide enough for one car, and although it does have a small passing place, it is also used by a number of school children and their families. The undersigned are seriously concerned about the safety implications of this narrow driveway being used by up to 60 cars.
Quite a few of the parents, who will be dropping children off at The Fairway have jobs - and the added time pressure involved with walking the extra 0.2 miles back to their vehicle will have serious implications on their ability to get to work on time.
We beg you to reconsider this ludicrous proposal and consult with parents and schools, in order to find an alternative, which will keep our children safe, now and in the future.
