These carnivals are part of the unique character and heritage of our borough. The Stockport Carnival has run for more than 130 years and the Hazel Grove Carnival for over 40 years. The cost of actively supporting these events would be minimal.The current Council should be ashamed of their lack of vision and support for the people of Stockport and the hard pressed voluntary groups who organise these much loved events.
