The Cabinet Members for Resources, Commissioning & Governance and Economy & Regeneration have considered a proposal for the implementation of a top up grant scheme for businesses that were not eligible for the other grants linked to business rates that the government had previously made available.
The new grant scheme will be administered by local authorities, and they would have discretion to determine eligibility and grant levels below £10,000, with grants of £25,000 also being available in exceptional circumstances.
The Cabinet Members for Resources, Commissioning & Governance and Economy & Regeneration have given approval to the proposed grant scheme for Stockport, as outlined in the report, and the associated guidance document.
