The Cabinet Member for Children, Family Services and Education has nominated the following person to thegoverning board vacancy at the school indicated:

The Area Committee has given approval to an application received from the Friends of Hesketh Park & Mellor Green for a grant of £400 from the ward flexibility budget (Cheadle Hulme South ward allocation) towards the cost of developing a number of wildflower areas.

The Area Committee has given approval to an application received from the  Bramhall Together Trust for a grant of £1,000 from the ward flexibility budget (£500 from each of the Bramhall North and Bramhall South & Woodford ward allocations) towards the cost of a Christmas Pantomime Trail around the village.

The Area Committee has given approval to an application received from Stockport Volleyball Club for a grant of £350 from the ward flexibility budget (Cheadle Hulme South ward allocation) towards the cost of training events for young people in Cheadle Hulme.

The Area Committee has given approval for the proposed signage to be installed at two locations on Cote Green Road, Marple Bridge as submitted in drawing NM36- Cote Green Road and it is proposed that Traffic sign 1 (TS1) signage will also be located on the northern kerb line of Cote Green as per the drawing submitted. The total costs for supply and installation is £770.48, £47.48 of this will be required from the 2020/21 delegated budget.

The Area Committee has given approval to the legal advertising of the following traffic regulation orders, and subject to the receipt of no objections within 21 days of the advertisement date, the subsequent making of the orders at a cost of £760 to be funded from the Area Committee’s Delegated Budget (Bramhall North ward allocation):-

The Area Committee has given approval for the following maintenance scheme and authorises the Deputy Chief Executive to order the work which would be funded by this Area Committee’s Highway Maintenance and Traffic Management delegated budget:-

Marple North Ward

Remove bollards set in the grass verge outside 182 to 164 Stockport Road, Marple and replace with eighteen wooden bollards.

The Area Committee was minded to approve the statutory legal advertising of the following No Waiting At any Time Traffic Regulation Order on Toronto Road and Canada Street, Heaviley, at a cost of £610 to be funded from the Area Committee’s Delegated Budget (Manor Ward allocation):-

South west side from a point 5 metres north west of the north westerly kerb line of Toronto Road in a south easterly direction to a point 5 metres south east of the south easterly kerb line of Toronto Road.

Both sides from the south westerly kerb line of Canada Street for a distance of 5 metres in a south westerly direction (and to tie in with the above). 

The Area Committee further approved the statutory legal advertising of the Traffic Regulation Order and that, subject to no objections being received within twenty one days from the advertisement date, the Order be made.

The Area Committee has given approval to an application received from Romiley LifeCentre for a grant of £1,000 from the Ward Flexibility Budget towards the cost of providing food parcels.

The Area Committee considered a representation made on behalf of The Mayor’s Charity Committee in relation their ability to undertake fundraising activities to support the Mayor’s nominated charity (Beacon Counselling) during restrictions imposed as part of the response to the coronavirus pandemic and has accordingly given approval to the allocation of £100 from the Ward Flexibility Budget to directly support the activities of Beacon Counselling.

The Area Committee, acting in its capacity as trustee of the Brookfield Park Shiers Family Trust, has:-

·         Noted the contents of the report;

·         Reaffirmed its decision to allocate £50,000 from the Trust to support voluntary groups for children and young people, young carers, addressing loneliness amongst children and young people, and supporting sports groups for people of all ages.

·         Retained the current investment policy.

·         Requested Officers to investigate ways of improving the infrastructure required to support the fund.

The Area Committee has given approval to an application received from the CPR Group for a grant of £555 from the Ward Flexibility Budget (£185 from each ward allocation) towards the cost of donating lifesaving billboards to 13 high schools in Stockport.

The Area Committee has given approval to an application from Kids Community Closet Stockport for a grant of £132 (£33 from each ward allocation) towards the cost of purchasing equipment needed for the project as follows:-

·         Storage Crates – to store clean clothing, avoid risk of any pests or rodents getting access to clothes.

·         Shelving and Racking - to house storage crates so clothing does not go damp.

·         Stationery - labelling for crates, delivery tags for drop offs and markers.

·         Basic mobile phone – I am currently using my own personal number.

·         Promotional Material - posters and leaflets for outreach.

·         Bags - packing and delivering bundles of clothes.

The Area Committee has given approval to an application received from Kids Community Closet Stockport for a grant of £99 from the Ward Flexibility Budget (£33 from each ward allocation) towards the cost of purchasing equipment needed for the Kids Community Closet project.

The Area Committee has approved Ward Flexibility Funding of £99 to Kids Community Closet Stockport towards the cost of purchasing various equipment required for the project, to be funded as follows:-

Heald Green Ward - £33

The Area Committee has given approval to an application received from Kids Community Closet Stockport for a grant of £349.98 from the Ward Flexibility Budget towards the cost of purchasing equipment needed for the Kids Community Closet project.

The Area Committee has given approval to an application received from Kids Community Closet Stockport for a grant of £100 from the Ward Flexibility Budget towards the cost of purchasing equipment needed for the Kids Community Closet project.

The Area Committee has given approval to an application received from Autisk for a grant of £180 from the ward flexibility budget (£60 from each ward allocation) towards the cost of providing vulnerable and disadvantaged families within the Stockport area with a ‘family gift pack’ each.

The Area Committee has approved Ward Flexibility funding of £180 to Autisk towards the cost of providing vulnerable and disadvantaged families within the Stockport area with a ‘family gift pack’ each, to be funded as follows:-

Cheadle and Gatley Ward allocation - £60

Cheadle Hulme North Ward allocation - £60

Heald Green Ward allocation - £60

The Area Committee considered an application for Ward Flexibility Funding received from Autisk for a grant of £120 (£60 from each ward) towards the cost of providing vulnerable and disadvantaged families within the Stockport area with a ‘family gift pack’ each. 

RESOLVED – That the application from Autisk for Ward Flexibility Funding on this occasion be declined on the basis that the application was made to all Area Committees across the Borough and would not benefit Marple residents specifically.

The Area Committee has given approval to an application received from Autisk for a grant of £180 from the Ward Flexibility Budget towards the cost of providing vulnerable and disadvantaged families within the Stockport area with a ‘family gift pack’ each.

The Area Committee has given approval to an application received from Autisk for a grant of £120 from the Ward Flexibility Budget towards the cost of providing vulnerable and disadvantaged families within the Stockport area with a ‘family gift pack’ each.

The Area Committee has given approval to an application from the Rotary Club of Stockport Lamplighter for a grant of £360 (£90 from each ward allocation) from the Ward Flexibility Budget towards the cost of replacing the generator with two deep cycle 12V batteries, replace the current lighting system with low power LED equivalent and the music sound with Bluetooth Speakers, rewire towing cable connector to match the wiring of recent new connections, replace emergency brake cable and coil spring and paint and sundries to both float and trailer.

The Area Committee has given approval to an application received from he Rotary Club of Stockport Lamplighter for a grant of £180 from the Ward Flexibility Budget towards the cost of making repairs and improvements to their Christmas float.

The Area Committee has given approval to an application from Autisk for a grant of £270 (£60 from Heatons North Ward, £60 from Heatons South Ward, £60 from Reddish South Ward and £90 from Reddish North Ward allocations) from the Ward Flexibility Budget towards the cost of providing vulnerable and disadvantaged families within the Stockport area with a ‘family gift pack.

The Area Committee has given approval for the legal advertising of the following Traffic Regulation Orders and subject to no objections being received within 21 days from the advertisement date the following orders can be made with associated costs from the Traffic Regulation Orders and site works being funded by the developer as part of the Section 38 Agreement:-  

Extend 20mph Speed Limit Zone: 

Lambeth Road 

Both sides from its junction with Reddish Vale Road in a North Westerly direction to the road closure at the railway footbridge (a distance of approximately 130 metres). 

Ramsgate Road

Both sides from its junction with Lambeth Road in a North Easterly direction to the limit of Adopted Highway (a distance of approx. 54 metres). 

Margate Road

Both sides from its junction with Roland Road in a North Easterly direction to the junction with Lambeth Road (a distance of approx. 162 metres). 

Roland Road 

Both sides from its junction with Reddish Vale Road in a Northerly direction for its full extent (a distance of approx. 80 metres). 

Vale Grove 

Both sides from its junction with Lambeth Road in a South Westerly direction for its full Adopted extent (a distance of approx. 132 metres). 

Introduce No Waiting at any Time:

The Area Committee has given approval for the following proposed delegated budget scheme and authorises the Deputy Chief Executive to order the work to cleanse the gullies along the following roads twice a year (2020/21), which would be funded by this Area Committee’s Highway Maintenance and Traffic Management Delegated Budget:-

·         Heatons North – Wingate Road and Princes Road (£530.00)

·         Heatons South – Pleachway, Park Row, Park Place, Vale Close and 8/10 Ridgmont Close (£265.00)
