The Well-managed Highways Infrastructure Code
of Practice (WMHI) was published in 2016. As part of the process to
deliver the policies and plans for the implementation of the WMHI
it was identified that The Council needed to review its Functional
Network Hierarchy (FNH). The Method for doing this was presented to
the Cabinet with the final version to be approved by the Corporate
Director. The final version of the FNH was used to review the
Gritting Network to insure that the routes are receiving
appropriate maintenance regimes. The approval of the Gritting
Network was also to be done by the Corporate Director
The proposed Gritting Routes and placement of Grit Bins and the
Proposed FNH were approved.
