A6 TO MANCHESTER AIRPORT RELIEF ROAD (A6MARR) COMPLEMENTARY AND MITIGATING MEASURES, HIGH LANE OVERARCHING REPORT pdf icon PDF 116 KB

To consider a report of the Corporate Director for Place Management and Regeneration.

 

The report explains the measures have been developed to mitigate the effect of changes in traffic patterns that are predicted when the A6MARR is opened in late 2017. The proposed measures are described in greater detail in the further reports submitted later in the Agenda. The purpose of this report is to give a summary of the measures and explain to Members the correlation of the individual scheme elements.

The report provides information to the Area Committee and seeks Executive approval for modifications to the junction of the A6 Buxton Road and Windlehurst Road to improve its capacity, as part of the A6 to Manchester Airport Relief Road (A6MARR) Complementary and Mitigation Measures (CMM) for High Lane and Hazel Grove.

RESOLVED - That the Executive Councillors (Communities & Housing) be informed that the Area Committee supports the proposals detailed in the report subject to further work being undertaken to explore the possibility of horses also using the proposed footway.

RESOLVED – That consideration of the report be deferred and the Corporate Director for Place Management and Regeneration be requested to make arrangements for a meeting to take place on site with Councillors and interested parties prior to an updated report being submitted to the next meeting of the Area Committee.
