Proposed Amendments to the Constitution

To consider a report of the Monitoring Officer.

 

The report sets out proposed options for the amendment of the Constitution.

 

The Working Party is asked to consider the proposed options.

The Monitoring Officer submitted a report (copies of which had been circulated) setting out the proposed options for the amendment of the following sections of the Constitution: -

 

(i)            Duration of the Council Meeting

(ii)          Part 3 (Scheme of Delegation)

(iii)         Part 4 (Financial Procedure Rules) (“FPRs)

 

Members discussed the proposed amendments, in particular the suggested revisions to the Constitution but no decisions were made.

 

 RESOLVED - It was agreed that Members would meet in their groups to consider the issues raised in the report.  Members’ suggestions would be put forward at the next meeting of the committee and Members would then have the opportunity to make their recommendations.
