Minutes:

RESOLVED – That the public be excluded from the meeting during consideration of Agenda Item 4 ‘Appeal A644’, to prevent the disclosure of information relating to an individual.  It would not, on balance, be in the public interest to disclose this information to the public because disclosure of the personal information would not be fair to the appellant and therefore in breach of Data Protection regulations.

5.

Appeal A644

To consider a grievance appeal from an employee of the Corporate Director for People.

Minutes:

The Committee considered an appeal against dismissal from an employee of the Corporate Director for People.

Having convened the meeting partly as a prehearing review, the Committee were made aware of some issues as to how this case had been prepared, the Committee noted that there was a dispute between the parties with regard to witness evidence at Stage 2 of the grievance.

During the review, both parties indicated that they were prepared to agree for this matter to be reheard at Stage 2.  Therefore the Committee decided to refer this matter back to Stage 2.  The Committee were also mindful that without this being resolved it would be very difficult for the Committee to reach a decision without elements of a rehearing.

RESOLVED – That this matter is referred back to Stage 2 of the grievance procedure.
