The Chair informed the Committee that an additional item had been included on the agenda, Item 12 – Newark Road, Reddish.

Members of the public were invited to put questions to the Chair of the Area Committee on any matters within the powers and duties of the Area Committee, subject to the exclusions set out in the Code of Practice.

 

One question was submitted in relation to the parking problems being experienced by residents in Heaton Morris in the vicinity of the Mercedes garage.

 

In response, it was stated that officers were trying to liaise with Mercedes to discuss the offsite parking issues raised by the questioner. A formal response would be shared with the questioner and the Committee.

The report provides information and seeks approval for the proposed traffic calming measure alterations along Greg Street, following the feasibility study that was carried out.

 

The Area Committee is asked to consider the report and give approval for the traffic calming measures along Greg Street.

A representative of the Corporate Director Place Management & Regeneration submitted a report (copies of which had been circulated) providing details relating to the proposed traffic calming measure alterations along Greg Street, following the feasibility study that was carried out.  

 

Councillor Yvonne Guariento recommended to the Committee that the preference was for Option 1 – F/4272/001 – white centre lining from outside Dace Motor Company to Hibbert Street.

 

RESOLVED – That approval be given for the following feasibility scheme,   Option 1 – F/4272/001 – white centre lining from outside Dace Motor Company to Hibbert Street (approximately 750m) at a cost of £2, 025.00 to be funded from the Area Committee’s Delegated Budget (Reddish South ward allocation).

To consider a report of the Corporate Director for Place Management & Regeneration.

 

The report provides details relating to a proposed Local Initiative scheme following completion of a new section of carriageway, A5145 Travis Brow, elected members have discussed the possibility of improved landscaping to create a ‘green corridor’ along this route in to Stockport town centre.

 

The Area Committee is asked to support the feasibility scheme and authorise the Chief Executive to order the work which would be funded at a contribution of £4,000 by this Area Committee’s Highway Maintenance and Traffic Management delegated budget.

A representative of the Corporate Director for Place Management & Regeneration submitted a report (copies of which had been circulated) providing details relating to a proposed Local Initiative scheme following completion of a new section of carriageway, A5145 Travis Brow, elected members have discussed the possibility of improved landscaping to create a ‘green corridor’ along this route in to Stockport town centre. 

 

Members commented that they were supportive of the scheme and thanked officers for the proposed scheme.

 

RESOLVED – That approval be given to the undertaking of a feasibility study with regard to the making of improvements to the landscaping adjacent to the new section of carriageway (A5145 Travis Brow) to create a ‘green corridor’ at a cost of £4,000 to be funded from the Area Committee’s Delegated Budget (Heatons South ward allocation).

To consider a report of the Corporate Director for Place Management & Regeneration.

 

The report provides details relating to a proposed Local Initiative scheme to approve the cost for the supply and installation of benches in the North Heatons Area.

 

The Area Committee is asked to give approval for the cost to supply and installation of benches in the North Heatons area and authorise the Corporate Director for Place Management & Regeneration to order the work which would be funded by this Area Committee’s Highway Maintenance and Traffic Management delegated budget as follows: -

 

·         Cost of works £2,200.00 (2 x benches at £1,100 per bench supply and installation); or

 

·         Cost of works £5,500.00 (5 x benches at £1,100 per bench supply and installation).

A representative of the Corporate Director for Place Management & Regeneration submitted a report (copies of which had been circulated) providing details relating to a proposed Local Initiative scheme to approve the cost for the supply and installation of benches in the North Heatons Area.

 

Members discussed the proposal and the improvements to accessibility for local residents.

 

RESOLVED – That approval be given to supply and installation of benches in the Heatons North area at a cost of £5,500 to be funded from the Area Committee’s Delegated Budget (Heatons North ward allocation) as follows:-

 

·         Heaton Moor Shops close to the Co-op, 78 Heaton Moor Road facing toward the Heaton Moor Road/Lea Road.

·         Shaw Road Shops between 1 and 33 Shaw Road (exact location to be confirmed).

·         Thornfield Park in the middle of the park at the centre circle (x3).

The report provides details relating to a “No Waiting at Any Time” restrictions at the junction of Brook Road with Manchester Road in Heaton Chapel.

 

The Area Committee is asked to consider the report and to recommend that the Cabinet Member (Sustainable Stockport) gives approval of the following Traffic Regulation Orders and subject to no objections being received within 21 days from the advertisement date at a cost of £760 to be funded from the delegated Ward Budget:

A representative of the Corporate Director for Place Management & Regeneration submitted a report (copies of which had been circulated) providing details relating to a “No Waiting at Any Time” restrictions at the junction of Brook Road with Manchester Road in Heaton Chapel.

 

Councillor Yvonne Guariento commented that the proposal was welcomed by local residents to have the double yellow lines on the corner of Manchester Road & Brook Road, but there was concern expressed regarding the displacement of parking.

 

RESOLVED – That the Cabinet Member for Sustainable Stockport be recommended to approve the following Traffic Regulation Orders and subject to no objections being received within 21 days from the advertisement date at a cost of £760 to be funded from the delegated Ward Budget:
