Appointment of Vice-Chair

To appoint a Vice-Chair of the Committee for the period until the next Annual Council Meeting.

RESOLVED – That Mr Kieran McMahon be appointed Vice-Chair of the Standards Committee for the period until the next Annual Council Meeting.

To approve as a correct record and sign the Minutes of the meeting held on 19 June 2017.

To consider a report of the Monitoring Officer.

 

The purpose of this report is to consider what general dispensations ought to be granted to Councillors to allow them to participate in Council business where they have a disclosable pecuniary interest or personal and prejudicial interest that might otherwise preclude them from consideration of particular decisions.

 

The Committee is requested to grant the dispensations set out in paragraph 4.1 of the report to all Councillors to allow them to participate at the Council Meeting and Council Committees.

Minutes:

The Monitoring Officer submitted a report (copies of which had been circulated) inviting the Standards Committee to consider what general dispensations ought to be granted to Councillors to allow them to participate in Council business where they have a disclosable pecuniary interest or personal and prejudicial interest that might otherwise preclude them from consideration of particular decisions.

 

RESOLVED – (1) That the dispensations be granted for the maximum period of four years and not one year as recommended in the report.

 

(2) That the following dispensations be granted to all Councillors to allow them to participate at Council Meetings and Council Committees:-
