Agenda and minutes

To approve as a correct record and sign the Minutes of the meeting held on 26 July 2017.

The Minutes (copies of which had been circulated) of the meeting held on 13 September 2017 were approved as a correct record and signed by the Chair.

Councillors and officers were invited to declare any interests they had in any of the items on the agenda for the meeting.

No declarations of interest were made.

To consider a report of the Democratic Services Manager.

The report outlines issues relation to the promotion of the Area Committee and community engagement. It also provides a response to issues raised at the previous meeting and raises a number of issues for the Review Panel to discuss.

The Review Panel are invited to consider and comment on the report.

A representative of the Democratic Services Manager submitted a report (copies of which had been circulated) outlining issues identified at the first meeting of the review panel and suggesting actions which the panel may wish to include in draft final report.

The Panel discussed and endorsed the recommendations outlined in the report and made the following additional suggestions:-

·         Answers to public questions should be summarised in greater detail in the committee minutes. When a written response to a public question is provided following the meeting, this should be available to view on the Marple Area website.

·         The Democratic Services Manager to explore further options to link in with ‘The Marple Website’ to promote the Area Committee and share information with the community.

·         Consideration needs to be given to how the public can be heard during the live webcast – the purchase of a roving microphone was suggested.

RESOLVED – That the Democratic Services Manager be requested to draft a final report for consideration at the next meeting which incorporates the comments above.

The final meeting of the Review Panel will be held on Wednesday 11 October 2017 at 6.00pm.
