The Deputy Chief Executive has approved the awarding of a contract for electrical rewire and boiler replacement works at Etchells Primary School to Copeland Group Limited.

Estates and Asset Management undertake planned reviews of the condition of the Council’s estates and assets. As part of this process, a need has been identified for electrical rewire and boiler works within a number of schools.

The funding for the works is from the Capital Maintenance Allocation for 2019/20.

The Council engaged with STaR Procurement to establish the most effective way to appoint a consultant. A competitive tender was adopted, using the ABC Framework with further competition. This process included assessment based on Quality, Cost and Social Value Benefit. A total of six contractors were invited to tender for the works.

Two contractors responded to the tender. Under the terms of the framework, there is a requirement for at least one contractor to respond; therefore, the response is compliant with the framework terms. Following scoring Copeland Group Limited are the preferred supplier.
